JL&T Module - The beginning of a Railroad - Part 3...

Well in this the third instalment of our module construction, I created the ground surface by using masking tape over the cardboard base form.  This was then painted in a tan coloured latex paint.

After this dried overnight it was onto laying down the ballast for the main and siding and then the vermiculite, plaster & cement mix from Joe's Siskiyou Line DVD's...
Masking taped laid down over the cardboard base form to get the base landforms.

This stage is extremely quick & easy...
Masking tape painted with tan dirt colour mix, this was not watered down at all...
Ballasted main & siding (main - WS Fine Grey), (siding - WS Fine Buff)...  Track has also been weathered using Floquil "Rail Brown" pen.

Joe's magic "Vermiculite, Plaster & Cement" mix, this has about a 15 minute work time, so when applying you need to get the mix down fairly quickly.  Once it is in it rough land form you can smooth out the remainder with a wet finger.

Couple of shots showing the finished ground surface...

Finished module with ground contours using "ground goop" method from Joe Fugate...

Next update:  Zip texturing, and re-ballasting...
