Road Bridge - Backdrop Transition - Part 3

Yesterday I finished the main structure sections of the road bridge, still have the pylons/arches to add, and a couple of concrete bases for the end sections.

Really happy with transition, once painted & weathered should really blend the scene, backdrop and bridge all together.  I can see this being a highly photographed section as trains enter the layout from staging.

I plan on adding some Cornerstone - Modulars kits behind the backdrop to hide the layout framing.

Next step will be priming and painting the bridge...

  1. I believe convincingly hiding cutouts is one of the more challenging aspects of layout construction. You are doing a fine job of it. This is going to look real good when finished.

I especially like the Roadway truck. Roadway was based in my hometown of Akron OH. Orange and blue trucks were ubiquitous around Akron during your layout time frame.

    1. Thanks Alan, this one has some unique challenges, especially hiding the framing behind the backdrop.
One of my favourite tractor/trailer combinations, I have the Road-Way trailer too...
